Hello
I have a question on the 3010 Diesel Deeres. When you open it up is that stock RPM and then when you pull the knob at the end of the throttle lever how many more RPMs do you gain over ridening the Govenor. Also what is stock RPM and what is the RPM when over riding the govenor.

Thanks for all the information

I was just wondering because I saw a 3010 pull in a tractor pull. he was in second gear and about 75 feet he pulled the throttle all the way down. So when he does that does he gain anything.

The stop on the throttle limits the engine to it's field working range. The override is for transport speed, such as for when you are in 8th and motoring down the road as fast as you can get it to go.

It is not for getting extra rpm and hp for tough field conditions. Buying a bigger tractor to fit your field conditions is what you should be doing if you find you need the extra hp all the time.

1. That's not overriding the governor, its just going to the the next work range.

2. The operation and speeds are covered in the manual and should be visible on the tachometer.

3. Its the foot feed that overrides the governor.

"3. Its the foot feed that overrides the governor."

That DOESN'T make any sense!

That's the way it works. Hand throttle limits to a certain range, the range is extended up and down when the knob is pulled. The foot feet (used for road work mostly) gets another 250 rpm on the top end without having to move the hand throttle.

No, that's NOT the way it works. Max RPM is set at the IP, and the governor is NEVER overridden.

Bob, go to the head of the class --If adjusted by the book,2200 engine RPM at first stop, 2400 with the knob pulled out and 2650 WOT(wide open throttle) with the foot pedal. The high idle stop adjustment on the backside of the injection pump limits the high idle RPM. The governor spring is never bottomed out in a properly adjusted injection pump.
