Try stove or BBQ paint.

The first thing to go down is the primer. Eboxy primer is rated for up to 325 degrees. Engine doesn't need to get that hot. Exhaust manifolds, pipes and mufflers are a different story. Use special hi-temp paint on them, from Eastwoods. Have fun with her.

I apply acrylic enamel, then wet sand, then clear coat to my stuff these days, weoll since 2000. None of the paint will stay put or retain its color on the exhaust manifold if you get it up and pulling and hot, but I can't say that it has not performed well on the warm engine block. It looks like the same color to me on my 70D and it has been heated up on the dyno many times.

it's been several years since I worked at the body shop but I think all we used on the hot rods we painted was an enamel on the engine.Either way I would question the supplier if it is an engine enamel because I am sure not all enamels are hi-temp.
