I have been collecting late 20 series tractors for some time and have a few for sale but dont know how to price them. The onl ones I want to sell are 72 4020"s. One is a powershift, one family owned with 3200 hrs and a professional paint job and john deere mechanical job. The other is a syncro with the inline pumped 466, turboed about 190 horse. Also wih a pro. paint. What are they worth? I am not sure if I want to sell one or both so I am just asking price quotes now.

The mechanical job means that it was gone through and fixed at a local john deere shop by a man that has been there since 76. The paint jobs on both are flawless because I wanted for them to show well too when I restored them. The Powershit is a great collector tractor. The syncro was built with left over engine parts from a 4440. The syncro though will knock the socks off many other tractors you'll find. I only paid 5000.00 for the syncro and had most the parts lying around. The powershift has been in the family since new. Any ideas of what they are worth is great. I tried to get pictures but the camera is just a thing I cant figure out. I am planning on asking about 19,000 for the powershift and 15,000 for the syncro, sound alright?

One is novelty and the other is a keeper to a collector. What do you maen by a mechanical job? Front wheel assist? Novelty--$10,000-$12,000 The keeper--as much as $15,000 or more depending on how professional a paint job. I have seen some "professional" paint jobs that I could do better with spray bombs. My opinion, however is worth exactly what you have paid for it.
