i just sold a couple of real nice cultivators that would have fit your b. you don"t want to try to make a 3 row out of anything for a b. the weight on the bars that runs from the rear to the front want stand that much weight without bending. if the weight on the cultivator isn"t kept the same on both side one side will dip down and plow deeper than the other. i tried to do that and just use my b to plow one row at a time and it didn"t work out at all.

jon, the 4 row may be to much for the early B if you plan to use them. We used them on the late B but I don't recall anyone, and there were a lot, who used the early B in the Greenville Tx. area where I grew up and they all used the 2 row.

i suppose the 4row would be a little much. it is not very purist of me but i suppose it could be cut down to a smaller size. maybe a three row? have the old b in process of being rebuilt, but need a cultivator to plow the garden so i can make it work. they can't all be trailer queens. they are just not happy doing that, they need to plow. thanks

A 3 row could be made BUT you would need a wide front end tractor because with a narrow front end the wheels would be running right on the center row and then you would only be able to do up to a 24" row width. A 4 row even with shanks removed for a 30" spacing would be to much for a smaller B, A larger B will handle a cultivator set like that as long as you do not use the rear gangs as with the rear gangs there is way too much weight for the hydrolic system to handle, found that out on the 49 B I had and had only 3 shanks between rows for the 30" rows, if there would have been the standard 5 shanks between rows the power troll would not have lifted them. And for to make and use a 3 row you would still need the power of a late B, not an earlier B. I had a 46 B as well that is the same size as your 44 B and a 2 row cultivator on it.
