I pulled the stuck pistons out of my John Deere B. The part number on the piston is B1772R. From the part number can I tell if this is a standard bore piston??? Rings seemed good. Narrow end clearance. Broke one unsticking them. Can I buy one ring or is this foolish? Any recommendations on where to buy these rings? Thank you.

i believe that i have a set of pistons that will fit that tractor at home, complete with rings in good shape. bought them for my early b i was restoring, but ended up with a 0.45 over from factory, so they are extra. bought them on ebay. think it was like $50 bucks. new rings from deere will be ~70. email me and we can make a deal

That should be a standard size piston, I would recommend checking bore and if it does not need boring/oversize replace the rings as a whole set. Rings are probably available from John Deere or other suppliers.
