I guessing it will, but the diesel starter won't work with the gas flywheel, I tried using a gas flywheel for our diesel and the ring gears on the flywheels are different sizes(diameter). chris

The L.P. flywheel from my 4020 bolted up to the crank of the 4230 engine that I replaced it with.

I had to have the starter drive end off of the L.P. starter placed on the deisel starter with was a minor task.

The only thing I say is that there is two different bolt parterns for the flywheels and cranks. A 6 bolt and a 4 bolt and you should be able to bolt one to the other but if you have a 6 bolt crank and a 4 bolt flywheel you will need to plug the two extra bolt holes in the crank other wise oil will run out of the engine. All that is need to do this is so locktite and a allen headed plug.
Good luck Chucky

I believe the flywheels WILL "bolt up". There may be a difference in weight, and the ring gears are different (different pitch starter gears between the gas and diesel), but I'll bet they'll "bolt up".

In the parts book for my early 4020, there are four part numbers for flywheels. One each for gas and diesel different for power shift and synchro range. Probably not quite enough the same to bolt up. There are two part numbers for crankshafts, one for gas, one for diesel as there are more main bearings on the diesel crank.
