Is there someone who knows where a chart might be or be able to explain where the decals go. Trying to get as close to factory placement as possible. Figured I could look at pics and go from there but someone has to know where they all go. Any help appreciated. Thanks

The John Deere Tractor Data Book authored by Lorry Dunning will give all the details for decal placement and correct paint codes as well what any special equipment for certain serial number tractors. Good book, you can get them at Tractor Supply or as I did off of EBAY for about $12.00 to $15.00.

John Deere, the E is 7" from the front of the hood, 40 is centered on the bottom panels of the nose cone. It sets at a 20 degree angle, the bottom of the 4 is 2'' from the bottom of the panel, the top of the 0 is 5 1/4" from the bottom of the panel, the tire inflation chart goes inside the battery box cover, Touch-o-matic goes in the center of the quadrant with the lift lever on the right fender, the pto becareful will go on the spring accumator system for the lift below the seat[round casting with a large short spring inside], the other warning decal goes on the left fender, about the same location as the one on the right fender. Look at www.jd40.com for more pictures.
