Hello out there in tractor land! I'm looking at buying a '46 model A of which MANY of the parts will be for my '47 A resto. Are there any major differences between the 2 year-models that I should be aware of? It is unfortunate that I may have to raid a decent tractor for my resto, but my '47 carries great sentimental value and this option seems to be quite a bit more economical than chasing down each part. Should probably take cover against projectiles hurled my way from all you dyed-in-the-wool antiquers? Peace, and remember you were a rookie once too, Brad

Did the '43 A wide front have a AW decal?

In looking at the parts manual, I would say that there are very few, if any, differences in the '46 and the '47 Model A. At serial number 648000 several changes were made, but that would have been later.

Don't be so defensive! You are saving one tractor at the expence of a donor. That's not a bad ratio. If everyone had done that , we would have 50% of all tractors built , now restored and saved for present and future generations enjoyment! Heck , even if it takes two donors , it's worth it. They are "A,s" for heavens sake. If we save one in 50 we are doing good.

Good Point, Maniac. I wasn't sure how real collectors felt about the matter. Thanks, Brad
