I am having trouble with my baler not tieing on 1 side, it ties perfect on the other side. It seems like it is not tieing the knot tight enough, sometimes it will tie, and before the bale is out, it will come untied. other times it want even get it tied, one end of the twine will have a knot in it and only about 3 inches of twine will be sticking out of the bale on the other end. Any suggestions

check to see if the tension on the bill hooks are the same. if one is to tight it may pull the knot loose before relaeasing it. also replace the knife blades that cut the twine to be sure it cuting the twine off of the spool. i use to have a ih baler and if you didn't keep the area under the knotters perfectly clean it would miss bales until you got off and just cleaned out from under the knotters and it would go back to tieing just fine.

The bill hook has to be able to grab both pieces twine in order to tie a knot. Check that the needle brings the twine up close enough for the bill hook to grab it. In springy material the hay can spring back toward the plunger and push the twine away from the hook so it can't grab it. There are plates in the chamber that reduce that but they get worn out and don't do the job. Replaceing them is the answer there. All this assumes your hooks are working well.
Yes you need a manual.

Do you have an operator's manual? Typically, there is a section with photos of defective knots, and what is needed to correct each soecific problem.
