Hi my 1967 jd350 has stopped going forward, or rather does so but with no power, however reverse works fine.

I was wondering what the forum"s wisdom is regarding the possible cause - I expect it"s the forward clutch that"s worn out but could it be some adjustment that"s do-able without dropping the reverser out ?

Thanks

Sorry , but it doesn't sound promising...Sealing rings on manifold , gasket blown on control valve , or clutchpack slipping..You can verify it by putting a gauge into the reverser control valve.. [ straight up vertical] 1/8 pipe plug on top of reverser control valve housing...Trans in neutral , run the reverser control lever forward and reverse at about 1/2 throttle..Should read around 135 lbs..

Thanks Roy good to see you are still on the board offering your great advice, I'm getting along by using the reverse gear to go forward, I'll try and get a gauge etc. but meantime am I risking doing damage running it as it is ?

Also out of interest - the foot clutch used to engage/disengage the drive - is that in effect one of the two clutch packs in the reverser ?

It went shortly after busting out some tough clay
so that might also point to clutch pack gone, but could of course be co-incidence too.

Cheers

Foot clutch cuts off all hydraulic power - forward and reverse.
