1937 A running fine then dies

Here is my 2nd question of the night. I was getting the ‘37 A out to do a little disking. Started fine, ran pretty well while I moved some small things out of the way. About 100 feet from the barn it ran on one cylinder momentarily, regained, and then a few seconds later it really started missing and dying. It sounded like it all of a sudden lost spark because when it would kick back and sputter there was black smoke, so I assume that it had gas coming in. After I turned it off and was troubleshooting, it seemed to have spark on both sides but while trying to start it again, the plugs never got wet. When I took the air intake pipe off it had some gas in it and also the carb dumped gas out of the front when I choked it. I was using new plugs. Is the mag (condenser?)or the carb the culprit?

Thanks for any help

carb is all out of whack, probably dirt problems or a hole int he float.

It sounds like the needle and seat have trash in them,or the filter stopped up.
