does anyone know if there is somebody that makes hi-performance injectors for a 720d.my problem is that i have the injection pump maxed out and with a turbo on it i think it could use more fuel as it does not smoke black under a load.

by the way the whole fuel system is rebuilt

Which pumps do you have? 720s used both 10 mm pumps amd 13 mm pumps depending on the serial number break.

I believe that all the 720's used 13mm pumps, have seen green dashes with 13mm pumps. I think in the service manual there is a note that the pump calibration for 70's should not be used for 720's because they used 13mm pumps not 10mm like the 70's.

Which tips are on the injectors? What is the low presure pump's output pressure?

Yes there are big injectors and pumps out there. I got mine 720D parts from Garry Power in Texas. Drop me an email and I'll get you the info (and fuel) you need.

the injection pumps were rebuilt and calibrated, the injectors are rebuilt with new valves in.ido realize excessive black smoke is wasted fuel but as this one does not smoke at alli think it could use more fuel.it has 80 hp now and i think it could do better.also is ther a dry type air filter available for it?

yes there is a place that takes your old oil bath cleaner and converts it to a paper element. I can't think of the name right now , but I'll look it up

Renaissance Tractor, Chehalis, WA C/O Albert Ulrich. (360) 748-0026

However, you cannot routinely service the element, meaning that you have to remove the hood to do so. That's what always stopped me from performing a conversion.

The dry filter conversion can be done so you can service it without removing the hood. When I converted mine to dry element, I used a filter from a 3020. To service the filter all that has to be done is remove the cup and a wing nut to drop the filter.

What kind of pictures do you need? Looks just like the stock oil bath on the outside. Have a sketch of what I did that I could send to you. This will be the third season I've been running it, have had no problems.

"720 in pa" for saying he has a turbo 720. Then we are wondering how short and small in dia that dry aircleaner element is to wiggle out of a 70/720/730 diesel oil bath conversion. The filter can't be much bigger than a 48 ounce juice can.

Who's to say "720 in pa" doesn't have a turbo on his 720? It certainly can be done, many people have heard and seen the turboed 70, and I have seen photos of the 730 in Texas that Garry talks about.
As far as the filter in my conversion, it's a Wix P/N 42926, Overall height of the filter is 12.281" and the outside diameter is 6.085. It is the same air filter that is used on 3020 Deere's. I'm sure the other overpriced conversions don't use a much larger element.

thanks

Black smoke is nothing but wasted fuel. As soon as you have black smoke, you're getting too much fuel for the air you're taking in. What have you had done to the pumps and nozzles so far?
