I was wondering if it is possible or if anyone has tried running the new E85 in an unstyled John Deere B. I've heard of a couple of people doing it and they said the tractor seems to perform better. I know the fuel acts as a solvent so I just thought that it might clean out the engine. Has anyone else tried this, if so what did you notice about the performance? I'm not concerned if it weakens horsepower, I just use the tractor for recreation. Thank you.

I had a B with a pretty nasty looking gas tank. Was a black almost tar like. I put the E-85 in to get it cleaned out. Worked pretty good. I put fresh in later and it starts and runs ok but then it is just sitting around not doing anything. It has been in it all winter and I haven't started it yet so not sure on the final results.
