What is the best way to keep the clutch driver from going on the crank too far,besides changing the crank? has anyone ever removed the pulley and built up the crank so the driver sits where it should? this one is just borderline its kinda hard to get out of gear sometimes and is almost flush with crank.

Here's some ideas that have been done before. Get another driver ,new ones are available aftermarket,and if it tightens up before flush or at flush with the crank you can machine some off the backside for clearance of the clutch facing to work right. Or make a 1pc. steel shim, mold it to the crank and then upon final assembly use some JB weld to fill in the gaps and hold it all together. This works best with a worn driver. You can carefully build up one spline at a time with weld and file or grind to fit until they are all pretty good. I know some have done this in the tractor. Don't waste your money on those so called undersized drivers sold at that high dollar place in Ohio. I tried a couple of them and they measure the same as the much cheaper new ones I can get elsewhere. This is a good idea too bad someone reputable doesn't make one that is ACTUALLY undersized.

This has nothing to do with the clutch driver. It is funny you should mention that place in Ohio. The first tractor I restored, he tried to hose me on a part. He priced it and later found out that it was sort of scarce and called me the next day and doubled the price. I told him where to stick it too. I have bought thousands of dollars of parts since then, but none from him. I only live about 75 miles away and it would be handy if he wasn't a crook. I have driven to Missouri to get parts that he probably had.
