I am wanting to attend the expo on the weekend of June 23. Anyone have any tips or information on this? Are there any towns close by that have lodging within a reasonable drive like locally owned motels etc? Any information would help.

Two-Cylinder Expo will be held June 21 thru June 23. Exhibits are released at 2:00 pm on the 23rd. It doesn't take long for the tractors to be loaded up and gone. Better plan on being there before that if you want to see everything..

The Waterloo/Cedar Falls area itself has lots of lodging available. Cedar Falls is, among other things, a college town, so the area has plenty of lodging options. I can't say for sure about locally owned, but I'm sure those exist too.

I can't recommend anything specifically because I only live about 75 miles away. I am fortunate enough to just drive there when I decide which day(s) to go.
