Will a camshaft out of a 70 gas fit an unstyled G?

Better to get any used cam reground and the followers refaced. You won't gain anything installing a worn cam. You eyes are not accurate enough to check the lobes and followers either. The tractor pulling forum lists several custom shops who grind cams.

Unless your G has had significant engine modifications, (running more than 500 c.i.) you will see no advantage. Changing the cam out of a G is not a simple task and the swap wouldn't be worth the work in a otherwise stock engine.

The later G's had the same cam as the 70 gas, F900R. It will bolt right into any G.
