Hi,
My 1949 John Deere A has two different style front hubs, one regular front hub, and the other hub is a different style. It is a John Deere hub, the lug bolts are the heavier grade and have JD on them and they are different size than the regular bolts. This hub is quite a bit heavier then the regular style hub. I think the part number on it is A3004, there is no R on the end of the part number. Is this hub some kind of heavy duty hub? is it correct for my 49 A? My A has a RolloMatic on it. The hub cap does not stick out as far on this hub. I'm not saying this hub is 'rare', its just that I've never seen one before. Any info, please let me know. Thanks.

This hub was used a lot. First on the As and then it was used on nonrollamatic front ends for all the number series, it was also used on the hicrops in all the number series and also most wide front end tractors have this too.

The PC675 Parts Catalog has this to say:

On page 98 Wide front, it says it's for Hi Crop.
On page 100 Convertable Front End, it says A only.
On page 106, it says it's for Hi Crop.

???

Thanks Dave for the info. I think I'll just put on the regular hubs. Thanks.

I think that hub is for a Hi Crop but am not 100% positive.
