john deere 4010 pto clutch

I have a 1962,4010. The pto on this tractor will not dissengage. it runs 540rpm engaged, 530 disengaged. Throw out bearing moves forward, but still nothing.i have tried to adjust the pto clutch turnbukle under the dash, but can't budge it. please help

One possibility is that the PTO disc has come apart and wedged itself IF it still drives a load in the disengaged position.Or it could be that the PTO brake is worn out/damaged and the PTO is just "coasting" which is a fairly common occurence.Repairing either one requires that the tractor be split,at the bellhousing for the clutch,or at the transmission for the brake.
