A 4320 with 6700 hours is available; they put a 4630 front end and 8 bolt wheels to hold a loader, and a 4440 rear end since it didn't cost much more than fixing the 4320 rear end. Both clutches new, and underhaul, new radiator. Very good shape the previous farmer said. Dealer wants 13,900. New front rubber, older rears. What do you guys think? Does the 4630 fe and 4440 rear end add a lot to this machine? Sound like it's in the ball park? Dealer gave it a 9.

The 4440 diff. is an automatic sub. from Deere if you need the carrier hsng. It has 4 spider gears plus thrust washers to withstand the loads put on it. I have replaced several of these in 4430's. as to the 4630 front axel; sounds like it's been used as a bull-doser. That axel is a lot stronger than the 4320 axel but you better ask why they needed that in the first place. You can buy a 4630 for that kind of money around here.Don

I can understand the front end being replaced. Something probably broke, from normal use, heavy use, or even abuse. Replacing 10 and 20 series front ends with 30 series parts is not uncommon. For example, I know of a salvage and rebuilt parts dealer that sells remanufactured front ends for 10 and 20 series made from salvaged 4430's and 4630's.

i think i would look for something else. mixing up the main components might work, but why mess with that when you can a straight model. makes it easier getting parts.

I would think the way the farm economy stinks right now you could get a decent 4230, 4430 or similar hp class tractor for the same money with extras like cab, heater, AC, ect. for that kinda money. Shop around, unless you just want a hybird 4320.

I'd think for $14,000 you could find a later model JD of similar horsepower and with more operator comforts. Look around at FastLineOnline and MachineFinder to get an idea of what is out there and what folks are asking for them.
