hi--can a guy replace jds service control
valve with a one spool control valve similiar to a log splitter? this valve would have 30 gpm max.,
adjustable psi from 1500 to 3000,relief pressure
of 1500 and no detent. also, what does the term
floating refer to?..... i am tired of chasing used
valves and remotes. thanks

Have you had the seats ground and valves adjusted on the scv's? Or doesn't the dealer mess with them? Early or late model? chris

Closed center vavle needed for sure. On that 4020 you can tap into the hyd.pressure over by the brake pedals and get a special tee. I think you can find it in the parts book for 148-158 loaders. Return to a ported filter cover or where the other pipes return on the LH side like an industrial version does.

What tractor are you putting it on ? Because if it has closed center hyd. your going to also need a valve that can be set for closed center. I guess the float would have a detent that the lever snaps into so the implement can float. This is usually used on loader valves and is helpfull when back dragging.

Just wanted to add some info. Must be closed center valve or convertable. Relief pressure must be set higher than system standby pressure or the oil will bypass constantly and overheat your hydraulic system.
