MT fenders

I'm new to Deereing and restoring an 49 MT. I need fenders so my questions is, which fender is correct. I have seen pics of fenders with fenders with ribs or ripples on them and then fenders with smooth sides. There are a MTs on ebay right now that each have one of the examples. Which is correct? Any one have extra fenders?

Another name associated with the MT fenders is "clam-shell". That is because of their overall shape and they they are curved on both ends.

Since the tractor tires on the MT are bigger than the M, 4xx series, the fenders/steps/etc are different too and especially how they are all bolted together.

Good luck with your MT project - you will like this little tractor.

Ken,
This is the only set of fenders I know of for the MT. The ones on that ebay MT might be off a 420 or 430?, but are not the correct ones for the MT. They are not even the same as the one's for the M.

WOW ! That's what is so great about this hobby,there is always something more to learn. I've been around Deere's all my life ,43 years and been restoring them for most of it (30yrs.) and I have even seen a few MT's. BUT I never noticed that. If what you say is correct it must be some kinda production difference.JD was always doing this. Hopefully someone who has ran into this before will chime in and clear it all up. There is a book out there by JR Hobbs called little giants. I never did get one , but I wonder if it has anything in it about this ?
