Without a doubt your baler will be much more useful with the new textured belts that Deere offers. Like the other fella said you will have to change your guides up a little bit. They will start your bale much better.

Something you dont want to hear, but should know is that your baler is getting older. You should assess its value and utiliy before you spend $$$$ on it. Many parts are no longer available from Deere. If you plan on keeping it you may want to find a junker to keep yours running.

i use to run an ih bailer that you could only get the bales to start right, if when you stopped to tie off a bale, you were sitting at the edge of the windrow and just as soon as you started moving forward you had zig zag to the other side to get a little bit of hay all the way across in order to start a bale right. might be cheaper to try this first.

I have a later 510 and it came way. People complain alot about starting bales with the 410, 510 but last summer one day I baled about a 160 bales and only had trouble starting one bale. I think you will need different guides for the wide belts but it is worth the time and money. bill

Hi

I just purchased a 410 and am in desperate need of a copy of the manual (operation). Anyone have a copy they could email? i need to use this bailer next week and the dealer says three weeks to get a copy. I have never used a round bailer abefore, and don"t have a clue..
