i just looked up a site that was listed in my favorites as floerger.com. is this site yours? for you who have never been there f-i-t goes into great detail on how to clean parts in different ways. i especially like the section of funnies. if you need to clean some parts you need to see this site. sorry i don't know how to attach it to this message. maybe fit will. i'm amazed everyday about the amount of knowledge that is shared on this forum. its to bad that somebody doesn't make this site into a book.

Now make that a zillion and one. Frank that is a great site and the electrolysis stuff is great too. I used it this winter while working on my LA and it worked great. It worked so good, in fact, that when telling some of the guys in our club about it they wanted me to do a demonstration of it at one of our meetings. I did, and gave out your website address, and everyone wqas amazed at how eadily it works. Thanks again from someone who has only been at this for a couple of years. Tom

One thing I like to tell folks who have not yet tried electrolysis for cleaning and de-rusting is that it is by far the easiest, most sure fire method to produce good results, process that I have ever found. I started using it in order to to remove rust, but as a method of paint removal, it just is hands down the simpplest way that I have found. No garbage cans full of $20/gallon Butyl alcohol paint removers either.

Anyone who wants to learn more about it can find it at www.fboerger.com

Frank, your site is absolutely amazing. With all that lye paste cleaner did you also allow for the loss of clothing. My Grandma used to make lye soap and if it didn"t get it clean it would eat it up. It did a great job on the cast.
What does your wife say about it?

I've never had any problem with losing clothing to lye, but I don't wear my Sunday best when I clean stuff either.

If the paint is old, alkyd based paint type, the lye paste really works well. If the paint is newer, synthetic paint, it works but it takes longer. If it is acrylic enamel with hardener, it's probably not gonna lift very easily.

Yep, www.fboerger.com is my site. I'm going to have some up dates in a few days, including an up date to the electrolysis article.
