i have a 1952 styled "A" with a powerblock in it. it has 6inch pistons. i know this because i needed to replace the piston rings man was that a JOB!!!! anyways i was wondering was the powerblock a john deere option? or was this a popular aftermarket thing? the tractor runs great- after new rings - a valve job - 12v conversion- the generator was swapped out for an alternator (that was the BEST thing i ever did to that tractor!!!!) - and set of plugs. but when i bought it it was recently painted with all new sheet metal. thanks guys!!!

I have a 1961 Tractor Supply catalog that list Power blocks with aluminum pistons, rings and pins--152.50 outright and 139.50 exchange. That is for Model A and model 60. Of course they don't have them anymore.

TSC, before they became a "yuppy-horsey store" sold the powerblocks to working farmers who needed more HP from their tractors.
