What would the first John Deere Diesel tested at the Nebraska test lab be worth? John Deere R serial number 1358, original paint, and both motors run good.

What about the earlier MX JD tested as well? Experimental R. So was it truely the first?

I don't think that the MX was tested at Nebraska, at least not as an official recorded test. I guess he means the actual "R" unit that underwent the testing for the official published results.

Does the MX still exist in one piece?

There were two "grey" painted tractors that barely resembled an "R", and those were tested in Texas and elsewhere in rice country. The MX's were pretty close to the final "R" design product. This is if I am remebering correctly from last year's Two Cylinder Mag article. Given that JD wasn't all that keen on retaining experimental models as legacies, I doubt that they were kept. Hopefully, someone will jump in with the complete story.
