I'm refurbishing a 41 h which I bought on eby a year or so ago from a place in Pennsylvania called Mcgrew equip. It was advertised to run and be electric start and neither was true. I drove from NC to PA so I took it anyway. I was run off the road on I81 in Virginia on the way back and demolished my trailer. Now the good news. This project has forced me to investigate and work on the internal parts of the tractor and so I am learning a lot about the "innerds" of a 2cyl jd. I love sheet metal work and painting but have shyed away from mechanical. Now, at 52 years old I'm going to be a mechanic, too. Thanks to Pat Browning who has helped along the way. I'm starting with a miniature, but I have my grandad's 46 stuck D, a 47 A, and a 48 B yet to go.

Hope things go OK on your H project. I used my 1940 H on my little farm for 25 years before I decided to restore it. I have had a lot of fun showing it and an H is an easy tractor to haul around, when gas is $3.00 a gallon hat helps too.

There's a How to article(s) on H's in here somewhere that's really detailed. An H is a good, small, and simple one to get your feet on the ground with. Good luck!

higgins -- May I presume you are referring to the JD-H Restoration Site listed below? Yes, the data is designed to be useful for more than just for the model H tractor -- as is also -- the JD-H Restoration Guide, now at over 220 pages!

The Restoration Guide is a LIVE EDITION in that there are updates now and then, and when learned, they are posted on the website and will be so long as I am able. We stand at your service. (PatB)
