I am restoring my 39 B and the PTO shaft is bent. I have one in a 42 parts tractor. Is it interchangeable? Also does anything need to be changed to put the 1st reduction gear from a late styled B into an early styled B?

Look this over carefuly. Are the PTO shafts even the same diameter? Our '39 B has 1 1/8" PTO shaft. Later one may be 1 3/8".

There are a lot of differences in a '39 to '40 B compared to later models. The 39 and 40 models compare more closely to the unstyled models in many ways and parts.

sounds like you need to buy a parts book. They really are great to have when you work on these tractors.

What is the S/N of the two B's. They should be interchangeable
