Implement tires Late 40s Early 50s

What tires were typical for implements in the late 40s early 50s? Did they come with tires or did the dealer or farmer supply the tires locally as was the case with some wagon gears etc. Dad bought a new 594 LW rake in in this time frame and it came with the small back tires but rims with no tires on the front. I have a double coil standard tool bar type field cultivator and a 55 plow that are going to need tires. They both have spoke wheels and 16" rims. Are the current ribbed implement tires typically used by people fixing these units up? The plow is hydraulic lift so traction is not a factor.

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,

Sorry I don't date back far enough to know what tires implements of this age typically had, however you may want to try the Miller Tire website. I've found them to have a pretty good selection and they may be able to help you.

If memory serves me correctly, implements typically were shipped in bundles to be assembled by the dealer. The farmer could choose between used car tires (most common) or buy implement tires.
