MT Spark plugs

Working on my MT and pulled the plugs to see what kind to get to replace them and found 2 different plugs. What is the correct Champion plug? The local CT store had the incorrect mm size on thier listing so I know that is not right.

I have a set of H-10's in mine right now. I have used H-12 both seem to be about the same for me.Everyone has there own favoites. If your carb is adjusted, and you don't idle it alot any of them will work. Let it get up to normal operating temp before shutting her down will help the plugs from fouling. Champion, H-10

Keep the engine warm and carb as lean as can going with as hot a plug as you can find and mettalic core spark plug wires. If you want Champion yes the H12 would be hotter. Others plugs would be AC 45L, NGK B4L, or Denso W14L. There are other Autolites that may work also, autolite.com

One plug was a J-8 and the other a H-10, I should have but didn't note which cylinder the came from.

Ken, you did not say what you found, and besides that I am not good at remembering heat ranges. It could just be that it had a hotter one in front than back.

I gotta get off this post fast since the green folks seem to be way down on champs. I use H 12's in my 420 - at least that was what I put in there about three years ago when it went back together.

As I recall the 12 is hotter than the 10. I never start the tractor unless I have to move things around or use it, but they have been working for me. Yeah Yeah I know it is great to crank them up all the time and listen to the tunes and dream of the good ole days, but it sure is hard on the plugs.
