I have a friend who's cousin has a JD R for sale. Are these good collectable tractors? All I know about it is it runs and needs painting. It is diesel but I guess all these were diesels. I don't really have a need for it but they look to be nice looking old tractors from the photo gallery. What should I be aware of if I decide to buy it? thanks

The R is a great rugged tractor and is very collectable. Like all two cylinder diesels restoration of pony and diesel can be very very expensive. If both engines are in good shape you can"t go wrong.
