Same '50 B, same bearing at the left end of the governer shaft, but the inner race is stuck on the end of the governer shaft. I had bought one off ebay earlier thinking I might need the guts, and it has the same inner race stuck on the flywheel side of the gov shaft. I squirted it with Kroil and heated it some and am letting it sit. Any ideas?

John: On anything metal keep in mind if you heat both parts it all grows at the same time. Races are 0 fit or slightly under to shaft. A must to work on items like this is generally an acetylene torch, wire welder, collar pullers, good vise, none of this stuff would just fall off or it wouldn"t be worth the assembly. A thin wheel on air grinder or electric grinder a good thing but you have to be extremely careful in using something like this. I"ve never had one due to space limitations but a small press would be very help with all the collar pullers but again dealing in pressure items, punches you need to be careful wear safety googles ie. In the past I"ve tried one ideal, then shift to another and so on. Looks like you"re getting the hang of it. Good luck, Chuck

If you have the whole assy. out sometimes you can support under the race well like on a vise or anvil and then take a sharp cold chisel and stick it in the crack where it meets the gear and give it some whacks and it will work it's way off. Then if needed you can get a bearing seperator (cheese cutter) under it and press it off. Or you could weld a washer to it then hook your puller over it if you don't need to save it.

A nice bearing separator will do that job so you can re-use the race, but if that's not the case.....

Use a cutting wheel to start a groove almost down to the shaft, then another 180* across from it. Whack the groove with a chisel and watch the two pieces separate at the speed of sound. Or, heat it after grooving, then quench it fast.
