20s, 4010s, 20s and even 730s. is that true?

Hi, I have a complete 4-bolt heavy duty rollamatic that I will sell for $250. I'm located about 2 hours north of Ft. Wayne, or 20 miles south of Lansing, probably a couple hours or so from you. Thanks.

It is the heavy duty one with the 4-bolt knuckles. It is complete with hubs. Email if interested.

From my limited understanding, two types of ROMs exist - a style that has 3 bolts holding the spindle and one that has 4 bolts holding the spindle. All two bangers have 3 bolt ROMs and all New Gens have 4 bolt ROMs.

A 3 bolt style will bolt right up under a new Gen but will not withstand the weight as two bangers are balanced 70% to the rear and New Gens are balanced closer to 50/50. That and a 4020 is a tad heavier than a 620 ;)

Deerevalley has them priced like the boneyards have 'em priced. I see them every now and again at a more sane 150 bucks in the Wisconsin State Farmer or Agri-View. I just bought one off a 4020 from a guy in Central IL for 175 bucks with hubs delivered to Wisconsin for my 3020D. I know where there's one for 50 bucks but the shaft that holds the pedestal to the ROM is snapped. It would need to be pressed out of each half and a new one pressed back in.

I am a little confused by your posting. I have a good one, very little wear, with original hubs, READY to bolt on. Yes you might be able to find them for under $350, but tell me a place you can right now go and get it for $150. You might be looking for a year before you find one for your sane $150 dollars. I think a heavy duty rollomatic is worth 1/4 of what a wide front end is....

And there are more to rollomatics than 3 or 4 bolts verses too.

I'm confused on why you're confused. You priced your roll-o-matic the same as the boneyards. Granted, yours has the hubs which is a big plus. I didn't know that from your original post.

You're right that I couldn't instantly find one at 150 but if you have just a touch of patience they can be had in a few months. There was a roll-o-matic in the Wisc. State farmer 4 or 5 weeks ago priced at $150. I'll bet the one you have was bought for 150 and now you're lookin' to double it.

Educate me further on the differences in ROMs. Like I said, I don't know much about them.

We live 20 outside of Louisville. We have a heavy duty rollomatic for a 4020 for $350. Yes they will change between a two-cyclinder and new generation. New generation has four bolts holding the spindle on instead of three. Email me for details.

What am I missing here? You are saying the new generation has 4 bolt and two cylinder has 3 bolt. How would they interchange then? All two-cylinders with a split pedistal that I have seen (numbered series)have a 4-bolt spindle. I put one off of a 3020 on a 620 once and it fit. Picture from my 620-630 parts book shows the 4 bolt pattern.

Yes, both front ends bolt on the tractor with four bolts. The difference I am talking about is the called the knuckle cap in the parts book. The heavy duty has four bolts that bolt the this cap on to the knuckle. The two-cyclinders have three bolts that that bolt the this cap on to the knuckle. If I get a chance tomorrow I will send you a picture of the difference side by side. This is the easiest way to see the if the roll o matic is a new generation or a two-cyclinder is by looking at the number of bolts.

Happy Holidays.
