Hi guys,
where can I get an upper water pipe for a JD 70 - comes from the radiator down to the top of the block - it is about 13 inches long and 2-3 inches in diameter - mine is rusted out.
Thanks!

If you have a later 70(after7031300) then the pipe is available from K&K, but they list it as a pipe for a 720 or 730 gas, same part #, A4955R. $30. Might pay to measure O.D. and check locally first.

Usually JD uses odd sizes on their stuff like that. JD may still sell them and also K & K tractor should have that pipe. They advertise in green magazine alot.

The pipe you're referring to fits into a casting on either end, and is sealed by O-rings which fit into grooves inside the castings. If your castings are good, you should be able to cut the old pipe out of the castings (heat works, but go slow as to not damage the castings). I would think the steel pipe itself is a common O.D. pipe which should be available from a shop which does custom exhaust work. The o-rings are available from Deere, p.n. F3450R. There is a serial # break at 7031300 for this pipe, so make sure you specify your serial# in any correspondance with salvage yards etc.

Jon a section of galvalum exhaust pipe the same dia. works great. I think K&K has them with or without the cast ends.
