To much for my pocketbook for that old of a machine and mechanical drive.

But I don't think I would sell mine for that either. I paid $2500 and the engine blew as I was unloading it at home.

Thanks for reply of $$

The 170 is the biggest they made way back when. They are mechanical drive, not hydrostat. If going to be using a lot go for a hydro.

I have had to repower my 170, that originally had a Wisconsin, with a 4 cylinder Yanmar diesel. Engine is worth more than the skidsteer.

For what I use mine for, it works, but do not use it hard or often.

I too have one of these 170's and the engine blew as well. I put a Wisconsin V465 which is about an extra 30 hp at 65.9. She sounds great, turns great, but she is slooooo oowwwww w moving. Seems like I am not getting out of low gear. Anyone have problems with these going really slooooow?
Thanks
