I have a JD 70 that has a knock or clunk that sounds to be at crank speed. I have no experience working on these and would like some help on pin pointing exactly where the noise may be coming from. My guess is that it is near the clutch side of the crank. Supposedly this motor has zero hours on a rebuild. Where should I start?

Two things come to mind ; check flywheel to see if it,s loose (generaly a heavy clunk every time it fires, with several clunks when stopping the engine) also check the clutch driver. remove capscrew and look at splines to see if its loose.Let me know what you find.
