I recently acquired a 1965 4020 PS, and the issue I have is with the gear shift. Certain gears are not selectable at one moment, but after selecting another gear, the initial gear is engagable, and another gear becomes non-engaging. I have looked around for a loose linkage, but haven't found one to date. When a gear is non-engaging, it acts as if the gear lever does not have enough travel distance in the gate to actually engage the gear, even though the gear lever is fully buried in the gate. Any help would be appreciated, as my knowledge of tractors is practically non-existent.

Try pushing the lever to the right. My 4020 does the same thing. It is a linkage problem.

Thanks, Richard, I'll give it a try. Cheers - Alan
