Need some technical Help. I had a Flywheel, clutch and pressure plate rebuilt by a large friction services outfit in town. Looked like a nice job of it too. Put it all back together and it slipped. Could the problem be the depth of the flywheel friction face to the PP mounting surface. Any specs and or suggestions would be most appreciated. And Thanks in advance.

The M has a stepped flywheel. That means that 2 seperate cuts must be made when resurfacing in order to keep the correct relationship tween the pressure plate mounting surface & the friction surface. However, any machinist w/ half a brain would know this. This is however a possible cause for your symptoms.

I don't know about that one but on a 420 the disc has to be on one way or other wise the rivets in the cneter of the disc will rub on the flywheel and keep it from fully engaging, until the rivets dig a groove in the flywheel that is.

Just a thought
