I once heard that a 7/8 spark plug thread is the same as a carb stem on a JD tractor. Anyway I got a chance to try it on a stripped out 41 B carb this weekend. I used an old plug from a Farmall F20. I ground down the stem just past the treads on the carb and cut off the threaded part of the spark plug with a hack saw. I slightly tappered both ends(threads and stem) and soldered it together using 45% silver flux coat rod. Drilled out the plug hole to 3/8" for the nozzle. This worked like a champ!! This repair was not realy that difficult and is very strong. Just thought I would pass this on.
