While trying to remove the nozzle from the bottom of a model 51 carb I kind of pushed the outside edge over at about 45 degrees by 1/8" long, how much damage is tolerable to the nozzle and still deem it usable. $45 is more than I can spend right now so any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

KJF470,
Beg, borrow (preferably not steal) 3/16" and #8 drill bits (the inside diameter of a DLTX51 nozzle is #8), and insert the non-fluted end of the 3/16" drill through the good end. Using a needle nose plier, straighten the bent part best as you can, and while pushing the 3/16 bit up through the bent part, tap the damaged end gently and form it back around the drill bit. When you get it as good as you can, remove it and insert the #8 bit. This fits snug in the nozzle, and carefully tap the damaged end of the nozzle, forming it around the #8 drill. Keep pushing and tapping (gently) and it will come through. If the brass is torn, clean and solder it and it should be functional.

Using only the 3/16" drill will not result in a round nozzle as the fit is too loose to properly form the nozzle in a round diameter.

Ok, thanks for the help! I now have the little stem piggy-backed to the nozzle successfully melted off! Ah CRAP, probably safe to say at this point I can frame and name the art work "WHAT NOT TO DO TO A NOZZLE". Wasn't paying attention and the little bugger got too hot! I was able to get the nozzle formed around a #8 drill shank, soldered the cracks that were there but the nozzle tip still looks like a slash-cut exhaust pipe! Anybody got a good source for DLTX 51 nozzle in the west metro of Minneapolis, MN?
