Near Louisville KY on Ft Knox Reg is 2.28 I sure wish we'd get some Government initiative to burn corn fuel around here, around everywhere. Seems like we saw several weeks of commercials on doing just that and low and behold the prices of gas go down. hmmmmm m. ANYway, Id like to see us break out of the grip of terrorist backing nations who sell us oil and realize that self sufficient fuel is a great way to cut funding to them who would do us harm. That is of course my opinion, unsolicited, true; but it is free...

Raleigh, NC it"s $2.75-2.51 for regular unleaded, depending where you shop at. Most within 10 miles of each other.

Honolulu is ~$3.19 for regular unleaded. Most gas here is 10% ethanol--I don't know if they ship it here from the mainland or make it from sugar cane by-products.

Here in Missouri 50 miles west of the Gateway, regular gas 87 octane is $2.39. diesel is usually about .50 a gallon higher. Sure glad I didn't buy a Cummins turbo diesel, Powerstroker, or a Duramax just to drive to work.HJ

Diesel may be running higher than no-lead, but our 1 ton Cummins deisel gets 18 to 19 mpg w/o a load, which makes it more economical to drive than my Chevy 3/4 ton which does well to get maybe 15 mpg w/o a load.

I hear ya! Here is a new NY bite in the a--. Cost us $1300 to get the 2000 Honda through annual inspection. Passed all the safety stuff but the check engine light was on. How in the world are the elderly, fixed income, lower income folks who can't afford new/late model cars supposed to afford that? They will either have to be outlaws or hitchikers and lose what ever crappy job they have.
New York is a good state to be FROM. Politicions bemoan young people leaving the state, they'd be idiots to stay!

I hear you on the foreign models. or as i refer to them Rice Burners i used to sell parts and they might be a good vehickle if you trade every other year but just wait till you have to buy a control module or something electrical. I priced a control module for a man about 1990 for a 80 Model Toyota pickup due to his drilling a hole in it trying to mount a fog light relay and when i told him the price he said he would junk it first. The module at that time was over $500.00 the truck was only ten years old then. Just my two cents worth on the foreign models.

I thought all jap vehicles and especially honda. were so reliable. Like in that stupid comercial welding the hood down. 1300 dollars what did they do replace the complete electrical system? Now that the japanese are importing brazilians, indians and koreans to work in there factories in japan we'll see that good value hit the dirt. Most So called american made vehicles are really just knock down parts kits from japan.

Oh well our kids will find work digging ditches while we export the best jobs.

Keep buying foreign vehicles, and sending the profits over-seas to make other countries rich. They will be happy to re-invest it in their own companies R&D to help put U.S. born car makers that much closer closing up shop. There is a $250,000,000 DEFICIT in the transportation industry yearly. Thats over a TRILLION dollars in a four year period that leaves the country. But of course you all love those foreign jobs they provide us here in the good ole USA. The japanese especially love your labor, while making themselves rich. Ummm... where was I, oh yeah.... Just wanted to say, I dont have the answer to the high prices of fuel. $2.79 for regular here in MI.
