I just cant say what the problems is off the bat since a cap n rotor isnt the cause??? Usually when high voltage starts arcin n sparkin everywhere but where it ought to I suspect (AFTER cap n rotor problem) a bad plug wire or a bad plug cuz its looking for a ground return path and takes that of least resistance.

I think I would totally swap plugs n plug wires to see if its ALWAYS that one distributor cap tower thats misfiring or if that can change depending on what plugs or plug wires are used. If its alwaysssss sss the one cap tower that misfires (NOT a plug or plug wire problem) I still think of a cap or rotor problem buttttt ttttt ttt it sounds like you already tried all that so ????? ???

Next thing one has to figure out is whether or not the coil fires on BOTH pickup points orrrrr rrrrr shes only firing on the one position. I think I would remove the distributor cap and coil wire from the cap (leave coil end intact) and place the bare coil wire end to within 1/8 inch from tractor iron, turn her on n crak her over and observe if the coil wire fires at BOTH magnet (used to be high cam on distributor shaft before you put the magnets on it) points or only one????? ?

If alls well, EACH TIME the lil magnet (theres 2 of them) passes by the fixed pickup coil (mounted on base plate where points used to be) the coil should fire AND THAT SHOULD BE TWO MAGNETS AND TWO COIL FIRINGS PER DISTRIBUTOR SHAFT REVOLUTION. The 2 magnets correspond to where the high lobes used to be on the distributor shaft, instead of them opening the points the magnet triggers the electronic module to interrupt current.

Last thing I can think of is timing and on that tractor the distributor turns at cam speed (1/2 crank) and the leading cap tower ought to fire the No. 1 Left cylinder and then 180 crank revolution later (90 of distributor shaft) the right cylinder fires. If the timing was off to where the right cylinder fired first and the left fired 180 later, the left would be on its exhaust stroke. ARE YOU SURE THE PLUG WIRES ARE ON THE CORRECT CYLINDER????? ????? The left fires when the leading magnet passes the internal pickup coil out the leading cap tower and 180 later (90 of distributor) the right fires when the lagging magnet passes the pickup coil via the laggign cap tower.

If its not timing,,,, or bad plugs or plug wires,,,,, ,, or a cap n rotor problem,,,,, ,,,or wires on wrong cap towers,,,,, ,,,maybe the elec ignition unit or pickup coil or magnets location is plain old baddddd dd

PS This assumes theres compression and fuel on BOTH cylinders????? ??? Check that before all this !!!!! !!!

John T (Stumped also and maybe being there would find the problem n maybe not)
