Where can I find a 3 point hitch for my D? If I find one for an R will that fit? What loader will fit on my D? I am also looking for a cab for it. Do they make tire chains for it? Post back here if you can help.

STOP RIGHT THERE. You will never find a 3 point hitch or a loader for the D's. I hate to burst your bubble , But the D was not designed to have such the things you are looking for. No Cabs either. As far as Tire chains you would have to make them up for your tires. Look at the tranny design of the D and look at the R's Tranny and you can see a big difference.

There is no way to put a 3 point on a D or an R. I've never seen a loader on a D either. If it were possible you couldn't steer it.

Doesn't John Deere make a 3 point kit or something? I need to make grandpas D tractor so it can do 3pt. work. I don't need a real fancy loader to put on it but need to know what kind or model to get. Can I put on power steering? Do they make a faster gear?

The D is the D and there is no more to it. There were only a few accessories that were avalible for it and Hyd, Three Point Hitch, Power Steering, and loaders were not on that list. The D came in a two and three speed version Depends on what year it was produced. Early D's had the two speed and the 35's on had the three speed trans. and around 3 1/2 is the top speed. I really think you are wasting your time and money to build something of that nature. If John Deere had made the D for such, they would had produced those accesories for the D. The D was made for pulling loads and plowing. The RPM on the engine was not quite fast enough to run a Thrasher, but it would handle it

The D wasn't intended for any of that, first all it don't have any hydraulics to run a loader or 3pt.or power steering!!!!You could find a hydraulic setup. The only loader I can think of would have to be called LINCOLN&VICTOR (lincoln welder&victor cutting torch). No 3pt was EVER MADE for them!!! R's Didn't have one either!!!!They did make different drive sprockets for more speeds.Shorty Dear had a hyd. setup. BUT DOING SO WOULD BE MAJOR WASTE OF TIME!!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !! My 2cents
