I am looking for a radiator core for my '51 A. Looks like there is one shown in parts on this site for around $150. Considering that is $100 cheaper than any other source I have seen what is wrong with it? Typo or bargin basement core that leaks from the factory? Anyone found a good deal on a core and willing to share the source?

Thanks,

Thanks. Got one on the way from A&I. Not as cheap as Wilam's price but not too much more.

I checked the A&I book.
A-AR1627R =$137.00
A-F661R= $5.00

The first is the radiator, and second is gasket. Of course you will need two of those. The A&I book does not specify the # of cores, so I dunno bout that. Most deere dealers are A&I, or at least we are.

I tried getting one mail order and not from my loacal radiator shop once. I found out why it was cheaper was because it had alot fewer rows of tubes. Check the tube row count before buying.

$150 on this site might be reasonable then. I'll check with the local A&I man. He tends to be high. Some reason he likes that "retail" column in the price book. Maybe I can get him to move his finger over to the middle column.

Thanks, I had forgotten A&I did have some 2 cyl parts.

See if anyone here is an A&I parts dealer. I bought an A&I core for a 70D and it has performed well. I did have to drill one hole that had been omitted for the lower flange, but that seems to have just been an oversight. The A&I core might have larger tubes, and might be a 3 row instead of a 4 (can't remember) but the fin count looks original, and it cools fine.

Yes A&I have good radiator cores. This is what we use and have had good results. The first A&I core we got came from John Deere, you might have to ask the parts person but Deere owns part of A&I so you can get parts through them. However, we went to a local farm store about two months ago and ordered 3 for 80-820 and one for a 520 and they came out about $130 each which was about $20 cheaper then Deere. Ryan
