styled d rims

can anybody tell me what size the rear rims are for a 1947 JD D (tires were 16.9-30)and where can I buy one?? I took the old rotten tires off and the rim is rusted through from the calcium.

The correct width rim for 16.9X30 tires is 14". I bought a new pair at Farmers Co-op Elevator Co. Wheel & Rim division, at Radcliff Ia. 515-899-2484(ask for Zeke) a few years ago, & the last I knew, he still had one. If you could use a pair of really good used 12X30 rims I have a pair that I would sell, but these would be correct for 14.9" tires & would look pretty "pinched in" with 16.9 tires.

12-30 rims are what came on most styled Ds from 150617 and up. Earlier styled Ds still had 28s. 14.9 or 16.9-30 tires look and work fine on the 12" rims. We always put 16.9 on them. This is one case where the new fangled tire charts don't tell you all. AD2341R is 12-30 rim was for 13-30 & 14-30 old size tires which = 14.9 or 16.9 in new sizes. AD2636R for rice Ds may have been a 14 or 15" rim? Never had any of those here. Josh, You can get the rims new or if you are close to Texas panhandle area I got about 6 12-30 rims that came off 47 & 48 Ds, set of 12 spline cast centers, also a set of 12 spline cutoffs with 12-30 rims for Ds and wheel weights.
