I recently bought a 1952 G John Deere and started checking things over. While on a test drive and changing gears the shift lever pulled out from the cover. I managed to get it pushed back down in the cover to change gears but I am wondering what is involved with fixing this! Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Repair of the gear shift assembly -- not that uncommon for JD tractors! For more on this subject, go to the JD-H Restoration site below, select Technical Issues, and once there, scroll down to the gear shift. (PatB)
