Hi Folks .... I got my first tractor today and am off to a start .... The center steering arm is broken ... Would anyone have this part or know where I can get one? ... I don't know much about this or any other tractor, but I'm excited to get started ... Thank You ... John

Search salvage yards or advertisers in Two Cylinder and Green Magazine and/or run some want ads. I don't see that part listed as a new aftermarket item yet and jdparts doesn't show to have it any longer so probably have to find a used one. The center arm for 47 As #584000 is available new but it's different.
Yours should be a part no. A1049R.

Also get yourself a operators manual from JD Publications and/or a I&T JD-4 shop manual. JD also has other specific service manuals for carbs, hydraulics, and electrical. You can also find some other handy info at this jdhpubs.com

good to have somebody else trying to save a tractor. you need to get the manuals for your tractor so if you need to know how something comes apart, the part number of a piece or how to adjust this or that you have the books in front of you. go to jd heritage and look for manuals (lower right) click on it and type in your model number and it will give you the number of manuals you need to order. jdhpubs.com has a real good section on carbs. you'll enjoy subscribing to two cylinder magazine and green magazine. jd sm2029 list alot of specs for your tractor, carb number, wiring diagrams etc. the number to order manuals is 800-522-7448. there is a lot of smart guys on here so post back with any questions. somebody on here is pretty good in any field you may have questions on. marlyn smith at 712-489-2570 is a nice guy to deal with for parts. don't break something getting it off unless you know you can get a replacement part for it first. heat, penterating fluids and patience are your friends.
