2010 hydraulics

I'm working on the 3-point hitch on a 2010.

Hitch was unstable at first, then wouldn't lift at all.

Upon complete disassembly of the rockshaft valves, I found some odd curled tiny wire pieces.

Then, I found the remains of a tiny coil spring keeping one of the "shuttle valves" from seating.

I figure the pieces and the spring are the remains of the "garter spring" from an oil seal.

Which one, is what I'm trying to figure out.

The filter screen and sump area are pretty clean of metal pieces, so I'm thinking the seal garter spring may have come from the hydraulic pump. It appears, the way the pump is mounted, the only seal is on the shaft for the throwout fork to disengage the pump.

What I am wondering, is if that seal is exposed to the suction side of the pump, so the garter spring would have been sucked in, and gone though the pump, and on to the rockshaft control valve.

I know the pump was worked on before the current owner bought it, so the broken spring could have been from before the pump OH.

Darn, I wish I knew what to do... getting the rockshaft off, and the valve all apart is something I don't want to have to repeat, yet I don't want to drop the hydraulic pump needlessly, as that is no 'picnic", either!

On a one-in-a-million chance has anyone ever worked on one of these with a similar problem?

Be NICE, guys, no nasty "2010 remarks";-)

Bob,if the pump seal you mentioned isn't leaking why worry about it? Do you think some more of the spring is still ij hyd. system? Tx Jim

That'ts what I'm worried about, that part of the garter spring is still moving around the system.

I wish I knew what seal it came from, and therefore the size of the seal, which would give me an idea of whether I have all of it, or not.
