JD 30 loader info??

I would like to have a real hydraulic bucket rather than a drop manure bucket. Any idea what other loaders are out there that would mount nicely with a real bucket I could dig somewhat with? Can anyone shed some light where I can get info on the JD 30 loader?

Also, I saw in one photo, a JD 30 had a valve/handle on the right side too, what would this control as mine only has a up/down level on the left?

Sounds like from you that maybe someone in the past rigged the JD30 to work on my 420.. maybe I should try to sell it after finding a suitable replacement??

The dirt bucket attachement you mention would be very helpful, better than the plate steel I was thinking of rigging up...

It is time to fess up, I pulled the manual out of the musty pile this am and mine is a #35 (CRS at it again)

However, the picture of the bucket that is posted looks like it might be the same as the bucket on the 35 loader. On the 35 they sold 3 different attachments for the forked bucket.

A narrow dirt bucket, which will load all the tractor will want to lift, and a wide snow, cob, light manure bucket. You just run the forks in the bucket attachments and put in 4 bolts if I remember. The construction on the attachments is straight forward and a piece of cake for a fabricator to make. I got stuck in the snow once with the narrow bucket and had a snow bucket made so i would always have a clean path for the rear tires. However that wide bucket will overload the tractor in a minute if you are scooing something other than feathersThat info may be in the manual for the 30 loader, I don't know.

I am satisfied with the trip bucket since I really can't run with the big dogs anyway. This thing will dig some dirt. You can set the angle on the bucket and if you put the lift in full down it will raise the front of the tractor.

Shoot me an email and I will send a couple of scans out of the 35 book for you to look for ideas on.

My thoughts on getting another loader is that good ones are hard to find unless christmas comes early.

It might be worth while for you to get a manual for the 30 loader, if I am not mistaken it shows the hyduaulic bucket and other options and how to hook it up.

Maybe they had an option for left handers, I don't know.

Now I just have to find a manual for the JD 30 loader... You can be sure its not posted for free.. but I'll look around!

I posted several pics a while back of 30 loader. Check the archives here and at johnnypopper.com Operators manuals for 30 loader were OMC2451 and OMC24553 and Parts catalog PC175. I think all the JD loaders of that era, 30, 40, 45, & 50 only had drop buckets unless some later ones were different. Email and I can send more info on the 30 later also. I've seen some 420s with some other loaders on them but don't remember what brand they were? Maybe Davis ? They were yellow.
