Does anyone know how can I find out what year my 2350 is? I just bought it and I got an appraisal for it, but the serial number on the appraisal doesnt match the one in the tractor, the seler told me he believed it was an 88, and online I found out they were built only from 1983 to 1986, this tractir was made in france, is that why they dont match?

Juan, the SN of JD 2350 tractor is on the RH cast frame just above the frt.axle. As far as I remember from selling those tractors there is only one location for a VIN and it should have a tag with SN and should also be imprinted in cast. Some frt. end loader brackets cover up SN location on JD utility made in Mannhiem,Germany as your tractor. JD only made engines in Saran,France,no tractors. Tx Jim

The engine was made in Saran France however the tractor was assembled in Mannheim Germany. Look all over the tractor for serial numbers. There is likely 3 or more plates in different places. Post the data here and we can make some sense of it.

There maybe a serial number plate down by the brake pedals. There will also be a plate near the pto shaft/remote hydraulics.Plus we need the engine and the frame serial number plate info.

B&D on JD utility tractors sold in USA built in Mannhiem,Germany there is only one place for tractor SN as it's on RH cast frame right above the front axle. At least that's where they were located when I sold and worked on them. TX Jim

The engine and trans plates also hold info that can be decoded. May as well find everything out when he's at it.

B&D,the original question the gentleman asked was "how old his tractor was". As far as I know from working for a Deere dealer fo over 20 yrs in sales and service is that the SN of the tractor(VIN) of later model JD's tractors is how to determine date of manufacture not engine or trans. SN's. Have a nice day,Tx Jim

I figured he may want to know the engine displacement and the type of trans the plate says it's supposed to have. Some mix and match cobbeled up parts tractors can be discovered that way. Then what is the thing worth?
