Well after two rebuilds of the trans shaft it now has no reverse again. Here is the full story first time last year the trans shaft was completely rebuilt right down to the shaft itself. It wound up going bad because or at least I thought it was cause it was pulled without being in tow position. Then the shaft was rebuilt again. Now after maybe 20 hours of service it has no reverse again and when I try to adjust the linkages the way it is suppose to be the shifter will not go all the way to park and no gears work at all. Could this possibly be cause the shifters them self are wore out? Also if it is the shifters would it have done damage to the trans shaft again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated for I am at a loss at this point.

I had the same thing happen to me on a 4010, The sychronizer disc burned up twice befor i found what was the cause, the drum had just enough pressure to cause the disc to drag, i replaced the shifter cam and paw and still had the same problem, I welded the detent hole full and redrilled where the drum was free when not in use. I have never seen nor do i want to see this probled again. The transmisson case came out of a dealer scrap pile i found out later,that was the reason in was in the junk,
